NCHL Beginners Program
Just because you didn’t play hockey when you were a kid or haven’t played in a while doesn’t mean you can’t play now. The NCHL Beginner Program is a 12 week program that will teach you the fundamentals you will need to start playing fun and competitive hockey. Everyone in the program is starting at the same skill level, which takes away the fear and embarrassment of learning to play with higher caliber players. Best of all, you and your fellow classmates are a team that will play games against other beginners and then have the opportunity to continue playing in the NCHL together. Testimonials“I would watch my husband play in the NCHL and was jealous cause I didn’t even know how to skate. I took the beginner program and learned the fundamentals of the game and the skills needed to join a team. It was amazed how much we improved and how much fun we had. Now hockey is something my husband and I can enjoy together.” Glenna Perraton “I had never played organized hockey before but was always interested in trying. A friend asked me to sign up for the NCHL beginners program with him so I did. There was every level of player, from those who could barely skate to some who hadn't played in years and wanted to get back into hockey. We learned skating techniques, passing, puck handling, rules and all of the other basics to be able to play. My beginners class formed a team and joined the league. I'm now the general manager of the "Tinbits of Doom" beginner team, I also play full time for another and have just started to referee (not to mention getting out with the guys a few times a week and dropping over 10 lbs.). I'd recommend the NCHL beginners program to anyone looking for a place to start playing hockey.” Mike Latajka "Enrolling in the NCHL beginner program was one of the best things I have done for myself. Three years ago I couldn't skate and now I have fulfilled every Canadian boy's dream of playing 'real' hockey and having a 'real' team. I highly recommend this fun and effective program. " James Miller "I cant say enough about the NCHL beginner program. Going in I was really nervous and didnt know what to expect, but the instructors were excellent. We were introduced to all of the basics from stick handling to positioning, and all in a non competitive easily paced schedule. I am now playing on 2 teams and love it. I would definitely recommend the program." Alison Harapiak |
