Overview As a beginner hockey player you will start out in a classroom orientation session, to get acquainted with your teammates and the game of hockey. Our head instructor will be on hand to show you what to look for when buying hockey equipment, and what to expect once you step onto the ice for the first time. Following this session your newly formed team will participate in eight on-ice training classes to teach you how to play hockey. The eight week on-ice sessions will start with the backbone of hockey; skating. Our instructors will run a series of drills designed to teach you to skate like a hockey player, even if you have never had a pair of skates on in the past. As you progress through the program the focus will turn to the game of hockey, and how you'll begin to play it. You will go through offensive and defensive positioning, puck movement, as well as game play. You will not only become a hockey player, but you will also become a part of the game. Once the on-ice sessions are completed you and your team will then play four games as a team against other NCHL teams complete with referees and statistics. Program Cost$399+GST - Individual Registration Save $50/person when you sign up with 2 or more friends. ($349+GST) |
