This week we had some new hockey players take the first step to realizing the Canadian dream! These players strapped on their skates, and even if they had no previous experience got out there and took a leap of faith to learn a new skill! They had always thought it was too hard, or that they would never be able to do it because they did not play when they were kids. But look at them go!
What an awesome experience they will surely never forget!
“When I decided to learn hockey (in my 40s), I chose a different program in Surrey. Seeing the difference between NCHL’s approach to teaching and learning the game to the other leagues is incredible. I think I learned more about technique on Thursday than I did in 11 weeks at the other program. Andre is a VERY good teacher (I’ve been a school teacher for 20 years now) and is able to break down the components of skating and stick handling in a way that I’ve never heard. I was so happy to have attended (even as a non-newbie)!” – Josh C.
